Wrongful Death
Personal Injury
Jarrod was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. He believes that community taught him a strong work ethic, the resilience of the North Carolina people, and the importance of not only caring for the community but being a trusted resource. Today, those strong values exhibit themselves in Jarrod’s willingness to take on complex cases for those harmed without shying away from the likelihood of trial. Jarrod prides himself on meeting his clients where they are by taking the time to explain the complexity of litigation.
During law school, Jarrod earned the Graduate Student Service Impact Award and the 3L Pro Bono Student of the Year Award for his strong commitment to public service and volunteer legal work in the community. He was also a founding student attorney of the Consumer Financial Transaction Clinic.
Prior to joining Maginnis Howard, Jarrod worked as an insurance defense litigator for a regional firm. The experience provided valuable insight on how cases are assessed for value and trial by opposing counsel and the insurance companies they represent. Jarrod began his career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Cabarrus County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, he successfully tried numerous felony cases and oversaw hundreds of bench trials. In addition to handling large felony caseloads, Jarrod became a critical asset due to his extensive knowledge of motor vehicle offenses.
Outside of work, Jarrod enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, fly fishing, being outdoors and exploring small beach towns.
